01.22.11 | Engagement

Kate and Jeromy are one brave, kind couple.  We went out to shoot their engagement session on the coldest day so far this winter.  WOW was it cold…I even had a quite embarrassing episode where I couldn’t handle the below zero freezing temps (I was head to toe in my warmest gear possible and here Kate and Jeromy are getting down to sweaters and no hats or gloves for the perfect shot).  Thankfully they were so nice and patient while we took a break to warm up before going back out.  Even though we froze our fingers and noses off trekking through freezing winds and snow, it was well worth it!  Kate looked just gorgeous with her hair and makeup done by Joanie at J Amelia’s…so pretty!!  After shooting in Nisswa, we headed to Coco Moon in Brainerd for a little warm up and we ended with some more casual images downtown.  You guys are absolutely wonderful and I am so looking forward to your spring wedding!  (:

01.9.11 | Boudoir

So as I start to write this and think about what I want to say I think I have come to a conclusion…I am starting to feel like my clients are my children.  Not in a bad way, but in the way that I think every single one of them is the cutest.  Like moms always think THEIR kid is the cutest one (even if they don’t say it out loud you know they think it).  This is how I feel about my clients.  So basically Rachel and Melina are pretty much the prettiest.

One thing that I do try to show in my work is the best side of everyone (not that I really had to try that hard for these images…).  When I see a well taken photograph of myself it makes me feel good to say the least.  I just want to be able to do that same thing for others and make them feel good too.  Rachel and Melina were kind enough to let me photograph them (together and separately) and the have been also so kind to let me share their images.  They are both so beautiful.  More can also be found at www.lolalace.com. Enjoy!

WOW what a year…I have been meaning to post a review of 2010 with a recap of my favorite moments and memories but haven’t quite finished yet.  So instead I will give a brief outlook on what lies ahead!  This year I am all over the state shooting weddings, engagements, and boudoir.  This month I am so booked (and blessed to be so booked of course) that it is crazy!  I thought these winter months are supposed to be calming and relaxing for photographers…I guess not.  Upcoming sessions have me traveling between Minneapolis, Duluth, Nisswa, Breezy Point, back to the suburbs, Chanhassen, back up north…it goes on and on.  I have a few themed shoots including a French themed boudoir shoot that I can’t wait to share coming up and a few corporate sessions that I will definitely set my own style too.  I will also be attending the photography convention WPPI in February (for learning of course) and hopefully a photographic opportunity filled trip to Iceland in July.  I also will be photographing the wedding of my BFF on Lake Calhoun in August (YAH Brie!!) as well as many other beautiful, amazing couples.  Last but not least I am donating my first photo session ever to Good Shepherd Gala and Silent Auction.  That is just a little of what is to come this year and I can’t wait to share with all of you along the way.  And just so this post isn’t image-less…enjoy a little mid-winter chill.
