Where should I start…there are so many things I could say about my little brother and sister.  To start, I love them dearly and worry about the day when I don’t get to spend as much time with them as I do now (no, I’m not just saying that because they are my biggest fans).  Rachel is always reading my blog, looking at my pictures and critiquing my work.  She even wrote me a few poems to feature with my upcoming posts, the first of which is written below.  Jacob is my little brother who reminds me very much of myself.  His brain is full of facts and he loves to ask questions like when am I getting a studio and what city will it be in or what new camera am I going to get next…he is even so generous he has offered to borrow me his own money to buy my equipment.  Nice guy!

We had planned on getting there pictures done early December but with everything going on we did them just before Christmas.  It was so hard to find time in our schedules (with daylight, of course) that we ended up taking the pictures just as the sun was coming up…early!  And as Jake said, ” Do you have any idea what time I was up ’til last night? Like 11 PM!”  I asked if he wanted me to let him go back to bed and he shrugged me off.  I don’t play favorites with them, but I needed to explain my reasoning of why there are so many images of Rachel and not that many of Jake.  He decided to take a break until we were almost done shooting.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and enjoys our [severe] Minnesota snow.  It wouldn’t be the holidays without it. :)

MaryJo and Cody are quite possibly two of the cutest people I have ever met.  Seriously.  Pretty much everything about them makes you just want to go “aww…”…like how Cody picks MaryJo up and carries her over the ice or how he looks at her with such love every time she isn’t looking…I am seriously going aww as I write this.  They are both ARMY (where they met…aww…) and studied at UMD.  The whole session was filled with a lot of laughing and smiles from them.  I also have to give credit to MaryJo…we shot outside in freezing temperatures all WHILE she was trekking through the snow in high heeled boots.  I wish you both a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.  I am so happy I was able to capture some of your abundant love before Cody deploys.

My older sister’s family is one of my favorite to photograph.  Besides being absolutely gorgeous, each person has their very own unique character.  Their son Tucker is very much a young modern skater…a slightly smaller version of his dad and uncles.  He is also very special to me because he is my godson and of course he was her first child I photographed when starting my career.  Audrey, the middle child, is pretty much a girl unlike anyone you have ever met.  She is very strong headed and has an “old, wise soul” so she thinks.  She believes she knows everything and what she says is what goes.  Sometimes her young age still shows through though…for Christmas she would like pink and purple boobs…even though she now understands she will have to wait until she is a teenager for those to come (and hopefully not in pink and purple!).  Chloe, the family baby, is possible the happiest baby I have ever seen.  She is always smiling and loves most everyone she meets.  I have to say my sister is blessed with three joyful children, even though Audrey is sure to be a handful for years to come.  Funny thing is, she reminds me of someone I once knew when I was younger…no I am not naming names, Melissa.
