“The era we are living in today is a dream come true.” —Walt Disney

This year has been my busiest yet.  Besides working in the cities during the week and restoring my studio in the clock tower at Northern Pacific Center (and add in some portraits, weddings, engagement sessions, commercial shoots and more…) I have been revamping my business and my brand.  I have also been so fortunate to travel quite a bit this year to photography workshops and intensives.  Along the way I have gathered a lot of new techniques and also experienced quite a bit of personal growth.

Also, this is my last post on my original blog (happy tears!) so please head over to www.loveaimee.com and www.facebook.com/aej.mrsphotographer to follow my current work.  [love, aimee] will serve as an in between blog for me until I launch my new direction next summer…it isn’t quite finished yet, but will soon feature full galleries as well as more information about me and my services.  For now, a few of my favorite personal images taken at Northern Pacific Center in Brainerd.  The property my studio is located on originally served Northern Pacific in the late 1800’s and is now, in my opinion, the most unique and beautiful privately owned property in Brainerd.  Basically, it’s my happiest place on earth. I think Walt Disney would approve.  (:

Just a little update here…the past few months have been busy ones!  Besides weddings and portraits, I have almost finished my new blog as well as my studio!  For some recent work please visit my facebook page.  Here’s a little teaser of the studio (just after my drywall was done…the electrical is now finished and also the paint thanks to my wonderful husband!).  All that’s left is to build a loft for my office this weekend, then it’s time for moving in and decor!

My friend Andrea [and her husband Jerry] have the two most beautiful little girls!  Taylor is such a sweetheart…before we started our session she brought me a beautiful drawing of a princess with hearts.  Pixie is also such a cutie!  Even though their were some fussiness and a little bit of attitude (not much really…just a tiny bit) during the session, I have found that my approach while photographing children is patience.  I have been enjoying photographing kids as kids…smiles, then a little jaunt, then some grouchiness, then some more smiles, then some candy, then some more ideas, then some “let’s go”, and then to end it all usually a little “but I don’t want to leave!”  I think this is the approach I will keep using during children sessions as it seems to work best with the comfort level of most children.  Andrea – thank you so much for bringing you beautiful girls to my studio!  I can’t wait to see them again very soon! :)
